Reforming the Federal Bureau of Prisons

Director Peters Unveils Transformational Framework

(FBOP) - Take a look inside the transformation within the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) as pivotal change is beginning to unfold. Director Colette S. Peters has revealed an ambitious plan tailored to improve the agency and the wellness and work-life of the dedicated 35,000+ employees and to enhance the lives of the adults in the FBOP's care and custody. The unveiling of the "Framework for the Future" marks a significant step towards reforming the FBOP and Director Peters is making these transformative goals public in alignment with her commitment to transparency.

The FBOP's "Framework for the Future," encompassing seven goals and over 180 unique initiatives, is set to redefine the Bureau's operations. The Executive Team, consisting of Regional Directors, Assistant Directors, and key figures from within the Director's office, is personally overseeing these initiatives. Their unwavering commitment is geared towards propelling the agency forward, fostering a humane and secure environment, and preparing individuals for successful reentry into communities.

In a video message for all FBOP employees, Director Peters introduces the "Framework for the Future" and engages and empowers the agency's dedicated workforce with details about the seven goals. As the agency begins to collectively work towards a transformative future for the FBOP, we invite the public and our external stakeholders to view the Director's video message to employees and the unveiling of the ambitious "Framework for the Future." We look forward to sharing our progress as we complete initiatives, achieve goals and reform the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
