(BOP) - As indicated on January 16, 2021, the decision to secure all institutions was intended to be a short term measure made in an abundance of caution to ensure safety and security within our facilities. After monitoring events around the country, the BOP has made a determination to return to the COVID-modified operations status nationwide today, January 21, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. EST. The BOP appreciates the cooperation and assistance of everyone involved in maintaining the security and orderly running of our institutions and ensuring the continued safety of staff, inmates, and the public.
