The BOP is currently offering a 10% recruitment incentive for nine hard-to-fill federal prison locations. Individuals who have received firm offers of employment as Correctional Officers at one of these nine locations on or before September 30, 2020, are eligible for the recruitment bonus. All candidates are subject to a drug urinalysis, physical examination, and background investigation. If hired, individuals must successfully complete the BOP's "Introduction to Correctional Techniques" training course and remain at the location where they were hired for a minimum of 24 months. The nine (9) current locations* with the 10% group recruitment incentive for Correctional Officers are:

- FCC Florence, CO
- FMC Fort Worth, TX (new)
- MDC Los Angeles, CA
- MCC San Diego, CA (new)
- FDC SeaTac, WA
- USP Thomson, IL
- FCI Waseca, MN (new)
- FCC Yazoo City, MS
* All other locations previously included are no longer approved for continued usage of these incentives beyond July 15, 2020. Certificates for these previously approved locations must be signed, or firm offers of employment for new hires must occur, on or before July 15, 2020.
