(BOP) - The Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) in Hazelton, West Virginia, is seeking individuals interested in working with the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP). This is an excellent opportunity to seek employment with the federal government and to have a meaningful career in public service with an agency that values a diverse workforce.
A Career Fair, with special emphasis on Correctional Officers, is scheduled for Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., at the FCC Hazelton Training Center*, 1640 Sky View Drive, Bruceton Mills, WV 26525. Interested applicants should bring a resume and two forms of identification. Veterans should also bring a Member 4 copy of their DD-214 or VA rating decision letter and a VA Disability Certificate, if applicable.
Please note: Federal regulations require BOP employees to be under 37 years old when hired; however, exceptions are made for certain hard-to-fill positions and for preference eligible veterans. U.S. citizenship is also required. Candidates are subject to a drug urinalysis, physical examination and background investigation. Additionally, those hired must successfully complete the three-week "Introduction to Correctional Techniques" training course in Glynco, Georgia.
