(BOP) - The Administrative United States Penitentiary (AUSP) in Thomson, IL, is seeking individuals interested in working with the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP). This is an excellent opportunity to seek employment with the federal government and to have a meaningful career in public service with an agency that values a diverse workforce.
A Career Fair, with special emphasis on Correctional Officers* and medical staff, is scheduled for Thursday, June 13 from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 15 from 10:00 a.m - 4:00 p.m., at the AUSP Thomson Training Center, 1100 One Mile Road, Thomson, IL 61285. Interested applicants should bring a resume and two forms of identification. Veterans should also bring a DD-2214 and VA Disability Certificate (if applicable).
Please note: Federal regulations require BOP employees to be under 37 years old when hired. U.S. citizenship is also required. Candidates are subject to a drug urinalysis, physical examination and background investigation. Additionally, those hired must successfully complete "Introduction to Correctional Techniques" in Glynco, Georgia.
