(BOP) - The Bureau of Prisons is a career-oriented agency, offering a broad range of exciting career opportunities in a work environment that promotes integrity, diversity, and professional development. With more than 35,000 highly motivated individuals, we are one of the most unique agencies in the United States Department of Justice where each employee's day-to-day performance makes a difference in the lives of others. There are 122 Bureau of Prisons locations across the country and a listing of current openings is available on the USAJobs website.
Career Fairs are offered periodically at locations across the country (see below). When attending a career fair, applicants should bring their resume and a valid photo ID. Veterans are encouraged to attend and should also bring a copy of their DD-214. In most cases, federal regulations require Bureau of Prisons employees be less than 37 years of age when hired and U.S. citizens. Please contact the hiring location for more information. Candidates are subject to a drug urinalysis, physical examination, background investigation and, if hired, must successfully complete the three-week residential course, "Introduction to Correctional Techniques," in Glynco, Georgia.
