(BOP) - On the first day of Reentry Week, Attorney General Loretta Lynch asked all governors to work with the Bureau of Prisons to assist federal inmates obtain identification.
In several states, individuals who release from prison are able to use their Department of Corrections' identification to secure state-issued identification cards. Those programs are generally not available to individuals who release from federal facilities. Attorney General Lynch asked the governor of each state to work with the Bureau of Prisons to enable individuals who release from federal facilities to use their Bureau of Prisons identification and/or release documentation to secure a state-issued identification card.
