(FBOP) - On April 24, 2025, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche officiated the Investiture of William K. Marshall III as the 13th Director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP or Bureau). In his remarks, Deputy Attorney General Blanche congratulated Director Marshall on his appointment and thanked him for the commitment he has made to lead the BOP. "As the nation's largest correctional agency, the Bureau of Prisons has a unique charge in ensuring public safety. I applaud President Trump's selection of Director Marshall. As a seasoned law enforcement and corrections professional with more than 30 years in public service, Director Marshall is the right person for the job. I have full faith that he will work tirelessly to ensure that BOP staff have the resources they need to do their jobs and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for individuals in the Bureau's care."
Director Marshall thanked President Trump, Attorney General Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Blanche for the opportunity to serve as Director of the Bureau of Prisons. "It is a tremendous honor and privilege to serve the Bureau and our nation in this new role. I look forward to working with BOP staff and Department leadership to ensure that the Bureau meets the challenges ahead."
