(BOP) - The Bureau of Prisons' Management and Union collaborated to produce a new Collective Bargaining Agreement, ending 13 years of negotiations. This agreement affects more than 38,000 staff at 119 federal prisons around the country. A signing ceremony will be held in the near future to recognize this very significant accomplishment.
Over the past 8 months, the parties to this agreement have greatly enhanced their collaboration and have accomplished a great deal to further the mission of the agency. Both parties are committed to working together to update and improve agency policies to ensure the safety of staff, inmates, the public and to reduce crime.
