Medical Records Technician, GS-675-05/06. Medical Records Technicians are responsible for performing analysis, coding, abstracting, and other day-to day activities in the Medical Records Department. They process requests for medical information, maintain a tracking system, and perform follow-up to assure acquisition of needed materials.

Qualifications: Applicants may qualify at the GS-05 level with the completion of a four-year degree above high school or with one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Applicants at the GS-06 level must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
